Hey there,
Sooo…
I’m finally answering one of the most important questions I get:
“Katie, there are tons of job openings out there… how do I find the perfect one for me?”
There are two answers to this.
ONE: If you need a job right now—just focus on getting in.
Switching to your perfect job is much easier once you’re already inside corporate.
TWO: If you already have the skills and think, “I deserve the perfect job!”—use my 4-part checklist to find it.
✅ Salary Matters
Let’s be real—salary is always a priority.
So what’s a decent salary in Corporate America?
🔹 Beginner? Aim for $50K+🔹 Intermediate/Switching? Aim for $80K+
If it’s below these numbers, negotiate or keep looking.
✅ Growth Potential
Many people ignore this, but it’s critical.
Ask yourself: Where will this job take me in 3 to 5 years?
If you don’t see any upward growth in this role—it’s better to move on.
✅ Company Culture
Even if the job itself looks perfect, check if the company is the right fit.
🔹 Some companies operate with extreme pressure and long hours.🔹 What one person calls a “dream job” might feel toxic to you.
Sooo…
Always check company reviews and management feedback before making a decision.
✅ Does It Align With Your Goals?
This is super important.
Just because a job pays more doesn’t mean you should take it.
Think about where you want to be in the future.
If you choose a role that aligns with your long-term goals, you’ll build experience that helps you transition smoothly into your dream job.
Now you know my 4-part checklist for finding the perfect job.
Use these when you start job hunting, and you’ll land a role that truly fits.
